Intro Paragraph

Patrick Flynn - Assistant Principal - Poland Regional High School

June 8, 2020,

Hello, Class of 2024! Welcome to Poland Regional High School! My name is Mr. Flynn and I will be your assistant principal next year. In past years, we’ve met together with teachers, counselors, Student Ambassadors, and other staff to preview your high school experience. In fact, I’m here now in the auditorium recording this message. I truly wish you could be here with me. This year, due to social distancing and our desire to keep you healthy and safe, we have created a virtual Step Up Day. Our sincere hope is that we will be able to bring you into the school for something more authentic in August. We’ll know more about that in a few months.

For now, this is your chance to explore PRHS through a website we have created just for you and your families. You should have already received an email with the link. You’ll find loads of information about how the high school works, including school and district policies, department information, driver’s ed, the student handbook, and a ton of other resources. You’ll also find a video tour of the high school building made by two of our rising senior Student Ambassadors, Pam Piirainen and Emily Boenig and words of advice and encouragement from a bunch of current high school students. We may be adding other materials to the site--we’ll let you know when something new is available.

At Poland Regional, our biggest responsibility is to provide every student with a safe place where they feel confident they can succeed and be comfortable. Our core values--Character, Citizenship, and Community--define who we are and set expectations for every member of PRHS, whether they are students, staff, faculty, administration, or community volunteers. Ms. Medd, the principal, and I are here with your school counselors, Deputy Jacques, and Ms. Lukeski to help you when things go wrong or you need support. Please don’t hesitate to contact me over the summer if you have questions or concerns.

So, go to it! I hope you find the resources on this site helpful. We look forward to meeting you in the fall!

Mr. Flynn
