Ell Fanus, Gifted and Talented (GaTE) Teacher

Ell Fanus is a GaTE (Gifted and Talented Education) teacher at Bruce M. Whittier Middle School and Poland Community School. She provides GT services in multiple subject areas for grades four through eight and offers enrichment opportunities for students in grades two through eight. 

She achieved her undergraduate B.S. Education and Fine Arts degree from Ohio State University. She went on to complete her Master’s Degree in GT Education from the University of Southern Maine. She was part of Harvard’s Think Tank on Global Education and is certified as an SEL (Social, Emotional Learning) Facilitator and a Yoga instructor. 

This is her 19th year teaching in the RSU16 GaTE program. Her first position in GT education was on Guam, where she co-coordinated and taught in the Arts program. 

In her own time, Ell enjoys being outdoors, creative writing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. 

Bronson Stinnett

Bronson Stinnett, Gifted and Talented (GaTE) Teacher

Bronson Stinnett is the GaTE (Gifted and Talented) teacher at Elm Street School and Minot Consolidated School.  He provides GT services in multiple subject areas for grades four through six and offers enrichment opportunities for students in grades two through six.

Mr. Stinnett graduated from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia with his Bachelor's Degree and Thomas College in Waterville, Maine with his Master's Degree.  This year will be his14th year teaching. He enjoys reading, traveling and meeting new people. He has had the opportunity to meet some of his favorite authors like Matt de la Peña and Gary Schmidt and even had them speak with his students. 

While you won't catch him skiing down a mountain in the winter, you'll probably spot him on a lake kayaking in the summer. He lives with his wife who teaches Spanish at PRHS and who loves reading and being adventurous.  He is excited to be a part of the RSU 16 community and invest in the lives of students!
