School Board News
Amy Fryda was welcomed to the RSU 16 School Board as the junior student representative. She joins the senior representative, Lily Cote-Powell, as representatives of the student body. Their role, as outlined in district policy, is “to offer student voice to aid in the making of collaborative decisions with other members of the school community regarding policy and culture.” Lily will act as Amy’s mentor and she will serve a two year term.
Amy Fryda, Junior - Poland Regional High School
Amy Fryda is a junior at Poland Regional High School, and a very active member of her community. She lends herself to the community by participating in chorus, band, a cappella, Chamber Choir, and all of the music festivals offered around the state. She takes all of the opportunities possible to help others, including being a leading member of her Civil Rights team, representing others on the Student Representative Body, and now School Board. Amy became interested in the political process and the School Board after she went to Seeds of Peace, a leadership training camp. She's well prepared to handle the responsibility that comes with this position and is excited to work towards a better future for RSU 16.
