As the Special Education Director, Jo, administers and assesses the effectiveness of short-term and long-term services for learning or otherwise disabled students. She develops the special education budget and reviews related legislation for compliance. Jo also supervises and provides professional development opportunities for special education teachers and support staff. In addtion to the technical aspect of this position, Jo portrays dedication, love, and caring for these special needs students. She has to be able to balance parent's needs and desires for their children with State and Federal regulations and that sometimes can be a hard stance.
