$6M Award, 58% Forgiven: What It Means for RSU 16

RSU 16 was awarded $6 million through the Maine Department of Education’s State Revolving Renovation Fund (SRRF) to improve indoor air quality at Poland Community School, Elm Street School and Poland Regional High School/Whittier Middle School. With this program 58% of that amount to be forgiven, 42% will need to be repaid. This means $3,487,800 will be forgiven and $2,512,200 will be repaid (interest free).

This is a highly competitive program for the entire state of Maine and we are thrilled to be awarded so much money! 

In order to complete the projects in full, last night the Board voted to bond a supplemental $2,943,901(with interest).
