Regional School Unit 16 - Proud to be serving Poland, Mechanic Falls and Minot

In 2007, the state's school consolidation law was transforming school districts — and the state. It combined Maine’s 290 districts down to about 160.

For us here in the towns of Poland, Mechanic Falls and Minot — Regional School Unit 16 was formed. The consensus was that it was difficult at first, prompting a lot of initial cuts. But over time the towns have gradually formed a united vision for education and assessed the needs of each community.
