Wireless Networks Update
The MLTI project used to include wireless networks as part of the package. That is no longer the case so we have to plan and replace these networks locally leveraging erate support.
Currently in our K-6 schools our wireless networks are (9) years old. We are actively looking to replace them in the 19-20 school year with a combination of erate funds and the local budget. The current networks can not continue to support the learning that utilizes technology occuring in our schools. With more and more devices along with web based programs the demand for fast wireless access is a must.
In our 7-12 school building, the current wireless network is (6) years old. We are hoping to replace this network in the 20-21 school year with supplemental erate funds and the local budget.
We have excellent internet access via the Maine School and Library Network at an annual cost of $1 per student.
